Play - In the City

Enamelled Panel 40x50cm - Copyright Ruth Ball 2008

This is an enamelled artwork, created by fusing vitreous enamel onto copper. The individual sections are bonded on to a wood support.

Inspired by the city as a subject, this piece was created as an entry for the theme "Man Made" for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in 2008. It also forms part of an ongoing body of work influenced by the regeneration of urban areas - click here to view other city themed enamel artworks.

Happily, it was selected in the first round of the Royal Accademy's selection process, however, although it apparently got as far as the gallery floor, sadly, it was not hung.

It does though continue to attract a lot of attention, and was commented on by many at it's viewing at the Liverpool Design Show 2008.
